Located about an hour west of O'Hare Airport on the shores of the Rock River, The Baby Bird Farm specializes in raising the sweetest, most cuddly baby birds possible.  We raise lots of baby Quakers and Cockatiels, but we also raise baby Senegals, Meyers Parrots, Red Belly Parrots, Jardines, Blue Crown Conures and Hahn's Mini-Macaws.  We believe that handfeeding babies is only part of the process.  Handling them and snuggling with them as babies makes them turn out to be very friendly adult birds.  They come to expect nurturing from people.  Click on "Our Babies" above to find out more about the baby birds that we raise.

Cookie has added an interesting collection of foraging toys to her store.  In the wild, birds would spend most of the day hunting for food.  In our homes, they have it served to them in their own food dishes.  Sometimes it's good for a bird to have to do a little hunting.

Foraging toys offer different degrees of difficulty, but all of them require the bird to figure something out.  When they solve the problem, they not only get the treat, they get the feeling of accomplishment.

For example, the Barrel of Fun on the left requires the bird to twist the little arms on the end and pull out the drawer to get the treats.  The Parrot's Treasure on the right requres the bird to twist the stainless steel keys and pull them out for the treasure chest to drop open and reveal the treat.
